Conference Honors for Fall Athletes

Four Oswego State women student-athletes were recognized by the SUNY Athletic Conference coaches in their respecitve sports by being named to All-SUNYAC teams following the fall seasons.

Two members of the Oswego State field hockey team earned all-conference honors. Defender Kayla Scalise '08, a two-year captain, was named to the All-SUNYAC First Team. Scalise led the Laker defense and was one of two Oswego State players to start all 16 games in 2007. Brittany Roetzer '11 earned All-SUNYAC Second Team recognition after leading the team in goals (five) and points (11).

Volleyball player Heidi Armstrong '08 set the all-time career kills record during a standout final season and earned All-SUNYAC West Division Second Team honors. The outside hitter from Solvay ended her four-year Oswego State career with 1,403 kills.

Women's soccer defender Brooke Sherman '10 also earned All-SUNYAC honors, as she was named to the all-conference Third Team. The Oswego State women's soccer team showed great improvement over the season, improving its record by five games over 2006. Sherman was a steady presence in the defensive backfield for the Lakers. She started all 18 games for Oswego State, helping the Lakers to a 6-10-2 season.
