Dr. Lois Frankel '73 |
On Oct. 12, SUNY Oswego’s Center for Business
and Community Development will gather women from Central
and Northern New York in the spirit of entrepreneurship.
“Connections” is a day-long symposium designed
to bring women of all ages and backgrounds together
to explore their entrepreneurial place and power in
the arts, in the business world and in various fields
of science.
The day’s agenda will feature internationally
known business coach, speaker and author Dr.
Lois Frankel '73. Frankel’s last two books
have been translated into over 20 languages and featured
on the “Today” show and CNN, and in The
New York Times.
Her books, Nice Girls Don’t
Get the Corner Office and Nice
Girls Don’t Get Rich, have also been featured
in USA Today and in
People and Time
magazines.
Also on the agenda is Poet Laureate Mona Lake Jones.
Jones is a writer, orator, educator and model of the
African-American woman on the move.
“Connections” will include breakout sessions
in the morning and afternoon discussing challenges to
women in the corporate world as well as in entrepreneurship
and the creative paths in the arts or sciences.
Attendees will hear from Constance Gomez Gregory of
Rochon Gregory Associates, Tracy
Higginbotham '86 of Women’s TIES and Five
Star Events, Christiana Kaiser of Bluetree Studios,
Erin Trowbridge '98 of
the Center for Forensic Sciences, and others. There
will also be women vendors promoting products and services
for women.
Purchase tickets prior to Sept. 30 and pay $25. Tickets
after Sept. 30 will be $35. (Ticket includes continental
