Karen Marshall Peters
’69 gets a
“Taste of Oswego” from the Oswego
Sub Shop station at Reunion 2005. |
There’s still time to join the hundreds of graduates
— and two media celebrities — who are expected
to return to the SUNY Oswego campus June 8 to 11 for
Reunion
2006.
Register today for Reunion online
or by printing the form online and faxing it to the
Alumni and Parent Relations Office at 315-312-5570.
Sports network ESPN will be represented at Oswego’s
Reunion by Linda Cohn ’81,
who is celebrating her 25th anniversary of graduation.
A familiar voice will be at a ribbon-cutting to celebrate
the grand opening of WRVO’s new studios in Penfield
Library at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Wielding the scissors,
along with college President Deborah F. Stanley, will
be National Public Radio’s Neal Conan, host of
the popular program, “Talk of the Nation.”
In addition to regular Reunion offerings, including
a barbecue at Fallbrook, a golf outing, tours of campus
and the city, and a sing-along, this year’s event
will feature a reunion of communication studies graduates
and current and former WRVO staffers.
A well-received event instituted at last year’s
Reunion was a mini- “Taste of Oswego,” featuring
foods from favorite Oswego eateries, including Canale’s,
Rudy’s and the Oswego Sub Shop.
This year’s event, slated for Saturday evening,
will be “mardi gras” style. In addition
to the restaurants above it will feature Cajun-style
food and the sizzling jazz sounds of the Tony Joseph
Quartet.
Specially honored will be the 50th anniversary class
of 1956 and the 25th anniversary class of 1981. Other
class years ending in 6 and 1 will be featured, but
everyone is welcome. The 20th cluster reunion will be
held for the classes of 1985, 1986 and 1987.
“Reunion Weekend is a special event for the Oswego
Alumni Association, because it is our opportunity to
welcome back to campus hundreds of alumni, many of whom
have not been back to Oswego since their graduation
many years ago,” said Betsy Oberst, executive
director of the Oswego Alumni Association.
For more information about specific events, go online
or call the Reunion Hotline at 315-312-5559.
Please note: Advance reservations are required and some
events do sell out. So don’t miss out —
