Telefund to Start Sept. 10
Telefund students are hoping alumni and friends answer the call this fall as The Fund for Oswego calling starts up Monday.
Some 26 students will be making the case for the Fund beginning Sept. 10.
"Looking at the big picture, donor participation is a big part of getting grants and higher national rankings for the school," said Telefund Manager Dominick White '08.
The Telefund accounts for about 70 percent of all The Fund for Oswego supporters and about a quarter of the dollars raised. The Fund supports the campus in numerous ways, from scholarships to light bulbs to equipment upgrades in classrooms.
"Every donation has an impact," White said. As do a lot of the phone calls. "People love talking about why they chose Oswego and memorable moments from their time on campus."
Pairing students with graduates within their major has proved a great networking opportunity for callers and will receive a greater focus this year, White said. The recent introduction of installment gifts will continue to make it easier to support Oswego, he added. The ability to make small monthly contributions via credit card adds a popular convenience to giving.
For more information on the Telefund or The Fund for Oswego, talk to a student caller when they contact you, follow the division on Twitter or visit Oswego's giving website.
