Brumley Named Interim Athletics Director
Cora H. Brumley, who joined Oswego State as the assistant athletic director in July 2006 and serves as the institutional senior woman administrator, has been named interim athletic director. Brumley's primary responsibilities at Oswego have included NCAA compliance, internal operations, budget analysis, sport program assessment and job search processes.
Brumley has served on the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority & Women's Internship Grant Allocation Committee and the SUNY Athletic Conference Executive Board. She was elected SUNYAC Senior Woman Administrator for two consecutive two-year terms. Brumley has earned numerous certifications and recognitions from several organizations.
Since 2004, Brumley has successfully written six NCAA grants worth more than $500,000. Oswego State was awarded an NCAA Strategic Alliance Grant to add an assistant athletic director in 2011 and previously two NCAA Ethnic Minority & Women's Internship Grants. The SUNYAC was awarded an NCAA Strategic Alliance Grant in 2010 to add an assistant commissioner for media relations. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater was awarded two NCAA Ethnic Minority & Women's Internship Grants.
Brumley received an MBA with an emphasis in marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2006, earning induction into Beta Gamma Sigma and Mu Kappa Tau honor societies. She received her bachelor of business administration degree at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, as well, majoring in international economics and earned induction into Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Delta honor societies. Her area of academic focus was strategic change implementation during her undergraduate program and athletic fundraising during her graduate program.
A national search for a Oswego director of intercollegiate athletics will be conducted.
