March Matchness Matches Up GOLD and Giving
While a trio of Oswego State Laker teams begin a busy March of postseason play, Graduates Of the Last Decade are invited to step up their giving game during Round No. 2 of March Matchness.
The fundraising initiative is aimed at increasing giving participation among Oswego’s most recent graduates. This year, GOLD Leadership Council member Rob MacMurray ’02 will match all GOLD donations made this month.
"When I think back to my collegiate experience at Oswego, what I most reflect upon are the experiences that I had with a variety of student organizations and it is those experiences that truly allowed for me to develop the self-confidence and abilities that I count upon every day," MacMurray said in a statement. "I sincerely encourage my fellow alumni to support the college because it is truly a wonderful environment for learning and self-exploration that is in need of all our support on a daily basis to ensure that it remains the same terrific environment for the students of both today and tomorrow."
Last year’s inaugural Matchness event netted 127 donors and a $5,726.73 tally that was matched by Oswego Alumni Association Board of Directors member Timothy Barnhart ’02. This year’s goal is 150 donors, recognizing the close of the college’s Sesquicentennial anniversary.
These contributions to The Fund for Oswego support academic programs, scholarships, technological upgrades, cultural opportunities and more. Follow the progress of March Matchness on the Facebook event page.
