Scholarship Founders Meet First Recipient
Scholarship winner Stephanie Gamboa '12 presented the Trabold family with a piece of original artwork in King Hall recently.
It was a fitting gift since the scholarship was established in memory of another talented artist, Nancy Busco Trabold, the late wife of Charles Trabold '50, M '53 and mother to Beth, Marilyn and Lisa Trabold '04.
"I come from a family that doesn't have very much, so anything helps. Anything goes so far," Gamboa told Charles Trabold during her first meeting with her benefactors.
Gamboa is the first recipient of the annual scholarship that goes to a qualifying female art major.
"This is a great way of having [Nancy's] positive energy be given tangible presence," said Beth, one of Trabold's three daughters who helped organize the scholarship. "We're very happy that Stephanie is the first recipient."
The Office of Alumni Relations and University Development offers more than 250 scholarships each academic year. To learn more about endowing scholarships and see how these awards are changing the lives of students, visit the scholarship website.
