Athletic Department Receives National Community Service Award

The Oswego State Athletic Department has received the Award of Merit from the Jostens/National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators in the "Array of Projects" category.

Events like the annual student-athlete Leaf Rake contributed to SUNY Oswego’s recognition by the Jostens/National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators for community service.

Oswego State was one of only 15 NCAA Division III institutions to be honored out of the more than 450 Division III institutions from around the nation that were eligible for the community service awards in three separate categories.

Over the course of the year, the Lakers collectively raised more than $42,000 and participated in nearly 20 separate events, including the annual Fall Leaf Rake and the St. Baldricks head-shaving fundraiser.

NADIIIAA is an association comprised of athletics administrators from NCAA Division III institutions around the country. A primary purpose of the NADIIIAA is to encourage the continued development of athletics programs focused on the student-athlete and based on sound educational philosophy.
