March a Perfect Match for Fundraising Challenge
March can feel like the dead of winter in Oswego, but one alumnus hopes to energize the college's recent alumni with a fundraising challenge this month.
During "March Matchness," Oswego Alumni Association Board member Tim Barnhart '02 will match every dollar donated by a Graduate Of the Last Decade up to $10,000. The goal is to get more GOLD involved in giving - at least 100, to be exact.
"I know how important it is for the campus community to receive funding," said Barnhart, a regular donor to the college. "Especially knowing that the state isn't in a great position to give support to the college and that students really need the money."
While the number of participants takes precedence over dollar amounts, multiple matches will mean that even small gifts have a big impact.
"Hopefully, this will inspire additional people to give, knowing that their $1 equals two and two equals three since my employer is matching my gifts," Barnhart said.
The Oswego College Foundation uses contributions to fund academic programs, scholarships, technological upgrades, cultural opportunities and more. Follow the progress of March Matchness on the Facebook event page.
