Burridge Caps Stellar B-ball Season with Awards
Oswego State men's basketball forward Chad Burridge '12 has earned national, regional and conference recognition for his contributions to his team's historic 2010-11 season.
Burridge was named to the DIII News Men's Basketball All-America Fifth Team, adding to a extraordinary résumé that includes SUNYAC Player of the Year, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) East District Player of the Year, the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Upstate Player of the Year, D3Hoops.com East Region First Team, and First Team NABC All-America.
Burridge scored 537 points and grabbed 192 rebounds this season for the Lakers, who went posted a 24-5 overall record and made the first NCAA tournament appearance in the program's 88-year history.
He led the Lakers to the second round of the NCAA tournament with an overall record of 24-5. He averaged 18.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 49.1 percent from the field.
Burridge is the first player in program history to named to the NABC All-America squad. He joins Sean McLaughlin '00, a DIII News Fourth Team All-American in 1999, and Ron Davis '60, a two-time honorable mention All-American in 1959 and 1960, as the only All-Americans in men's basketball at Oswego State.
