Year: Junior Major: Broadcasting & Mass Communication and Business Administration Hometown: Scotia, NY
Involvement:Besides being a tour guide, I'm a peer adviser to incoming freshmen. I also had an internship which turned out to be a paid summer and winter job for me. Besides that, I volunteer in Oswego doing various community service projects.
Why Oswego:I chose Oswego because of the affordable price, the distance from home (3 hrs.), and the location of the campus on Lake Ontario. It's also extremely friendly and a perfect place to spend four years.
Favorite Thing About Oswego: All of my friends, and the new people I meet all the time. It's the perfect size campus where you meet new people all the time, but you're able to recognize those people outside of class, too. I also love how the lake is right here and all the swimming and bonfires we are able to be apart of during the nice weather months. The gorgeous sunsets are also a nice bonus.
Why Did You Become A Tour Guide: It was a spur of the moment decision which I've come to love since I started. One day I saw something advertising it and I thought it would be something I'd be really good at. I love to talk and meet new people so this was the perfect way to combine both things. It's also very useful in my major to have this experience working with all types of people.
Favorite Memory At Oswego: Anytime my friends are around we have awesome memories. From spending weeks figuring out our Halloween costumes to enjoying the fireworks at Harborfest, everything at Oswego is memorable. Also, in my freshmen year when we had classes canceled for nearly a week was great.
