Year: Sophomore Major: Accounting Hometown: Manlius, NY
Have you participated in any internships or
overseas study programs? If yes, where
and when? I plan to intern over this coming Summer.
What activities are you involved with at Oswego? Treasurer of Students in Free
Enterprise, Ski Club, Recreational Sports
Why did you choose Oswego? I wanted to be a part of the
development of the Business program here at Oswego and felt comfortable on
campus, not too big nor too small.
What is the best thing about your major? The real world experience the professors can
offer to you and future need for this profession.
Generally speaking, what impact has the Oswego faculty had on you? The faculty has been able to help me in every
way possible and prepare me for the real world.
Who's your favorite professor and why? Professor Charles Spector, Professor Spector has
been in the accounting industry for years and has the real world experience to
help not only myself but any other student in need of help. He is always there
for your help and is always encouraging questions.
Describe your department's atmosphere and how it has enhanced your ability to learn. The atmosphere in the School
of Business is unlike any other. The professors are always around talking with
students or other faculty members and the with the AACSB accreditation the
professors have the knowledge and experience to help anyone.
What is the best thing about SUNY Oswego? The best thing about SUNY Oswego is the people
on campus. Even thou some people think Oswego is a small campus, everywhere you
go there are new and interesting people to meet. From R.A.’s in residents
halls, faculty and staff around all the buildings, your classmates, and people
you have never met before.
Comment on how your Oswego experience has helped prepare you for a career. The real world experience I have already gained
from being at Oswego is huge. Getting ready to start my own job, live on my own
and all the challenges that go along with it. With all the experience I have
gained from being the treasure of SIFE and working in the admissions office I
am building up the knowledge and experience that employers look for.
What opportunities has Oswego given you that you never had before? I never was the one that spoke up and asked
question or be the leader in an organization. But my time on campus has already
changed that as I am the treasure of SIFE and am the mostly likely President to
become in a year. This is giving me the confidence and experience I never
experienced or put forth in high school.
