Kenneth Sturtz

Tour Guide

Year: Sophomore
Major: Journalism
Hometown: Mexico, NY

  1. What activities are you involved with at Oswego?
I was able to become involved with the TV station, radio station, newspaper, and Colleges Against Cancer all within weeks of coming to campus.
  2. Why did you choose Oswego?
I chose Oswego because the average person you run into on the street is a much nicer person than at other institutions.
  3. What is the best thing about your major?
There will always be a need for reporters. Even if newspapers someday disappear, we will still need people to tell stories and my major has trained me to be able to tell the story.
  4.  Generally speaking, what impact has the Oswego faculty had on you?
The faculty is Oswego’s greatest asset because they aren’t busy conducting research and have the time to help you and make you feel welcome. Many of them have inspired me to continue in a class even when it was difficult.
  5.  What’s the best thing about SUNY Oswego?
SUNY Oswego offers an excellent education that will do more than prepare you for a career, it will also prepare you for life.
