I had an Internship at St Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica NY Under the events coordinator. 2011
How has your internship or study abroad experience enhanced your education?
The internship gave me a better understanding of what field of marketing I might want to get involved with. I enjoyed event planning and learned many valuable skills that I can take with me and apply to other jobs.
What activities are you involved with at Oswego?
I am a member of SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise), club volleyball and participate with Mentor Oswego.
Why did you choose Oswego?
I choose Oswego because I loved the campus. I looked into the academic programs and learned that they had a strong business and education school, the two schools I was interested in. I loved that the school is right on beautiful Lake Ontario, and I realized early on that Oswego had so many opportunities compared to other college and that this was the place for me.
What is the best thing about your major?
The best part about my major is that I get to do what I love. I love working with people and I love promoting things I feel strong about.
Generally speaking, what impact has the Oswego faculty had on you?
The Oswego faculty is so dedicated. They have had a large impact on me because they have opened my eyes to all kinds of opportunities within my major that I was not aware of before. I have made great relationships with them and know that if I need help I can go to them.
Who's your favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor was. Dr. Kenneth Shaw. Dr. Shaw is a professor of Marketing. I like him because I found his class to be very interesting, and he really made me realize that I was in the right major.
Why do you like your education department?
The department is very professional but at the same time warm and welcoming. It is a good combination of the two.
What's the best thing about SUNY Oswego?
The best thing about Oswego is the atmosphere. The students, the faculty, the lake, walking to class, everything together and just the feeling of the campus is what makes it great.
Comment on how your Oswego experience has helped prepare you for a career.
The Oswego experience has opened my eyes to a whole new perspective on life. I have grown academically, emotionally and mentally. This growth has helped me prepare for a future career.
What opportunities has Oswego given you that you never had before?
Oswego has given me the opportunity to experiment with majors, study abroad, make a whole new group of friends and gives me a phenomenal education that cannot be replaced.
