Why did you choose Oswego?
I chose Oswego because coming in undeclared; the Compass was a huge selling point for me. They were there for me when I needed it the most, and they got me where I am today. Lake Ontario was a bonus!
What activities are you involved with at SUNY Oswego?
I am involved in First Year Peer Advisement(FYPA), as well as recreational volleyball.
What is the best thing about your major?
The best thing about my major is that the field of psychology is changing everyday, therefore there is always something new to learn. I am really looking forward to where my major takes me, especially since I am going to be involved with the Human Computer Interaction program. I am very confident about my future!
Who's your favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor would have to be David Vampola. He is the one, who got me to fall in love with cognitive science, which lead me to what I would like to do with my career after I graduate college.
Generally speaking, what impact has the Oswego faculty had on you?
The Oswego faculty has had a huge impact on my success here at SUNY Oswego. They are always there when you need help and are very active in making their students successful.
Describe your department's atmosphere and how it enhanced your ability to learn.
The psychology department has really opened my eyes to different opportunities. All the professors are really nice and are there for you every step of the way. They give great advice on what classes to take and they really just make you want to do your best.
What is the best thing about SUNY Oswego?
The best thing about SUNY Oswego is the opportunities you have here. There are so many clubs and organizations to get involved in. It makes it quite easy to get a leadership position, which is a great resume builder, but it also gives many ways to meet a lot of new people!
Comment on how your Oswego experience has helped prepare you for a career.
The Oswego experience I have had thus far has made me really excited for a career in psychology/technology. I have had the opportunity to speak to a lot of people, and I am looking forward to my last few years here to really get started in my program.
What opportunities has Oswego given you that you never had before?
I have received many opportunities to become a leader. I have never had this chance before simply because in high school I was not involved in much at all. I love taking the lead on things and doing things for others, so being involved especially with Admissions and FYPA, it has given me the opportunity to help out others.
