What activities are you involved with at Oswego?
I am Faith Formation Leader at the Newman Center and a brother of Alpha Phi Omega.
 
Why did you choose Oswego? 
One of the main reasons I chose Oswego was because of the lake. My favorite place is the beach, and on a really windy day the lake can sound like the ocean.
 
What is the best thing about your major? 
The best thing about my major is the fact that you get a lot of experience before you actually are out in the field teaching.  The MentorOswego program that I was involved in both this year, and the last, helps students get into the classroom and get experience.
 
Generally speaking, what impact has Oswego faculty had on you? 
The faculty members at Oswego are amazing.  Professors are there to help, especially in the education department.
 
Who's your favorite professor and why? 
My favorite professor would have to be John Laundré, who I had for Animal Kingdom.  He is very passionate about what he teaches and his enthusiasm is very contagious.


Describe your department's atmosphere and how it has enhanced your ability to learn.
The education department is wonderful.  In Wilbur Hall, there is an advisement center where there is always someone willing to help you.  I think this has helped me understand more about the department, and also more about my particular program.
 
What's the best thing about SUNY Oswego? 
The best thing would have to be the sunsets on the lake and going to Rudy's and Bev's.  I came into Oswego not knowing many people, and I know that the friends I made here will be lifelong friends.
 
Comment on how your Oswego experience has helped prepare you for a career.
SUNY Oswego has been great in helping me prepare for a career.   The faculty members are great, and the MentorOswego program has given me great hands on experience that I might not have had otherwise.
 
What opportunities has Oswego given you that you never had before?
The MentorOswego program has given me great experience that I have never dreamed of having.  The program pairs you up either one-on-one, or with a small group of children in local schools.  You can either help during the day or with morning or afternoon programs.
