What activities are you involved with at Oswego?
As a Sophomore I have developed a diverse relationship with the SUNY Oswego Campus. I help students with their day to day lives as Resident Assistant for Seneca Hall. The Student Association Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Is another way I try to give back the campus that has given me such a great experience in the past two years. Being a Student Conduct Committee Hearing Officer is a very enlightening experience and allows me to constructively debate in addition to helping students reorganize their life goals.

Why did you choose Oswego?
The campus of SUNY Oswego was the first aspect that jumped out at me. This campus is exciting, clean, and everything either is or feels new. As a First Year Residential Experience student as a freshman I loved the environment Johnson Hall provided me in addition to the amenities of Lakeside. As a Sophomore I learned that West Campus is just as interactive and exciting.

What is the best thing about your major?
Being a Business Marketing Major is so enjoyable because it allows me to utilize my skill sets in the most appropriate way. Being someone who enjoys public speaking, economics, statistics, and competition the Business Marketing world is where I will find a career someday.

Generally speaking, what impact has the Oswego faculty had on you?
The faculty in the classrooms are always there to help you if you peruse help. They also all have a very distinct style of teaching that broke the bounds of my high school classes which allowed me to learn, and retain, course material more effectively.

Who's your favorite professor and why?
Dr. Lawrence Spizman made Economics one of the most fun but rigorous courses I have taken. He took scenarios and products we interact with on a daily basis and used them to explain concepts that most students found too foreign to understand.  His ability to connect with us as a class is what proved that he is one of the most competent and intelligent professors I have met.

Describe your department's atmosphere and how it has enhanced your ability to learn.
Rich Hall is a new building with a great learning environment. It is full of professors who understand how to engage and communicate with students productively and effectively.

What's the best thing about SUNY Oswego?
The mixture of facilities and student life bring Oswego an unmatchable feel and environment. The scenery of both the architecture in the building and the lake provide a fantastic impression of the school. Most importantly the quality and amount of students here is what made my experience so enjoyable.

Comment on how your Oswego experience has helped prepare you for a career.
This school has provided me with a vast set of skill sets and career ideas and I'm only a sophomore. There are so many people who are willing to help you expand your horizons it is hard to leave here and say you did nothing but learn in class.

What opportunities has Oswego given you that you never had before?
It has provided me with a mindset that the best thing you can do for yourself is to benefit others. As a member of all the organizations, clubs, and jobs I hold they are all geared around benefitting others as an individual. I found that that is the best way to better yourself and that was a life lesson I learned here at SUNY Oswego.
