Have you participated in any internships or overseas study programs?  If yes, where and when?
Throughout my time at Oswego I participated in activities such as; Alpha Phi Omega, I was an intern to the school psychologist at Charles E. Riley Elementary from January to May of 2012. I participated in the College choir, women's club soccer, and intermural sports.

How has your internship or study abroad experience enhanced your education?
My internship at Riley Elementary gave me the hands on experience I have longed for. I got to work directly with the students and help them in their individual growth.

Why did you choose Oswego?
When applying to colleges, I knew I wanted a campus that could fit my educational and personal needs. As a student here, I really connected with the student body and campus.  I was also able to excel in my classes and individual growth with the great atmosphere and professors.

What is the best thing about your major?
Psychology is a major you could explore in a variety of ways. I am constantly thrilled with how down to earth my professors are, and how hands on and intriguing my classes are. Psychology was a perfect fit for my career path, and personality.

Generally speaking, what impact has the Oswego faculty had on you?
The Oswego faculty has been an influential part of my growth as a person. What I take from Oswego is much more than a degree but strength and courage to venture off into my next chapter. The professors here have challenged me to push myself in order to succeed, which makes me confident that I will excel in my graduate work.

Who's your favorite professor and why?

Generally speaking the Psychology department professors have been an amazing group of people to work under. I would have to say Dr. John Schwoebel would be one of my favorite professors here on campus. He really pushes his students to learn to their full capacity and was able to bring challenging material to his students at a manageable pace and in an interesting way. I took Cognition with Dr. Schwoebel and became quite a nerd over the brain ever since.

Describe your department's atmosphere and how it has enhanced your ability to learn.
My department has exceeded my expectations and allowed me to grow both personally and educationally. I walk away from Oswego with courage and passion to strive to be the best I can.

What's the best thing about SUNY Oswego?
SUNY Oswego has both a personable staff, and student body. This is one thing that significantly attracted me to the campus, as it made me feel very welcomed and accepted as a student here.

Comment on how your Oswego experience has helped prepare you for a career.
As I prepare to leave Oswego to start a new educational journey, Oswego has given me the tools necessary to feel not only determined but prepared for my graduate work in Mental Health Counseling. Oswego gave me the educational backbone to venture off into the next step and I am excited to share my knowledge and professional help to the world as an Oswego Alumni.
