Accepted Students

Congratulations on your acceptance into SUNY Oswego! Feel free to bookmark this page as a reference as you progress toward your Oswego experience. We hope the following links and information will help you finalize plans to join our community!

Campus Visits
We strongly encourage you to visit our campus and meet our friendly students, faculty and staff. We have various campus visit options available, including student-guided tours accompanied by individual appointments or group information sessions. We look forward to hosting you!

Admission and Housing Deposit
To reserve a place among our incoming class, you must complete the admissions deposit form. You can pay the admissions deposit either online (preferred) or via postal service. The admissions enrollment form which was enclosed with your acceptance letter will provide your User ID number and PIN needed for the online process. To submit the deposit though the mail, simply return the Admissions Enrollment Form with your deposit in the envelope attached.

To indicate your intent to enroll at SUNY Oswego, you must submit a deposit by May 1, 2010 or the date indicated in your acceptance letter (whichever is later). If you plan to live on campus, your deposit is $200; if you do not intend to live on campus, your deposit is $100. Additional information concerning billing can be found through Student Accounts.

Transfer Edge
The TransferEdge program allows transfer students to get an edge when it comes to securing their first semester classes.  If you pay your applicable deposit by the deadline stated, you have the option to attend the upcoming TransferEdge program.  At this program you will be given the tools and resources to register for classes. Contact the New Student Orientation office for more information.

Financial Aid
We encourage you to consult with our Office of Financial Aid on opportunities for funding support. Last year, 78% of aid applicants received financial assistance through this office. Students who have filed their FAFSA by March 1 will receive priority for campus-based federal funding. You can also apply for FAFSA online; SUNY Oswego's FAFSA code is 002848.

Campus Housing
After paying your housing deposit, you will receive detailed information on housing selection from the Office of Residence Life and Housing.

Transfer and Proficiency Credit
An evaluation of your transfer credit will be provided upon receipt of your official transcript(s) and your tuition deposit. If you would like an evaluation before you submit your deposit, please let us know. Credit for Advanced Placement (AP) and other proficiency credit is awarded following receipt of your official AP or other proficiency transcript. We also have established a program to serve students who seek recognition for achievement acquired outside the conventional college classroom.

Transcripts
Do we have all of your transcripts yet? Please make sure you forward your final transcripts to the Office of Admissions, 229 Sheldon Hall, SUNY Oswego, Oswego, NY 13126.

Health Report
After you pay your deposit, your asked to complete our Pre-Admission Health History form, which must be completed by you and your health care provider and returned to us within 30 days.

First-Year Program
We've received rave reviews for our FirstChoice Program for first-year students. This option offers incoming first-year students a variety of programs to support successful transition to college.

Orientation
Another way we make our newest students feel welcome is through our Summer Orientation program, which includes both an orientation to campus and an opportunity to advance register for fall classes. The Orientation Office offers several separate campus programs for first-year students during the summer and programs for transfer students in April, June, July and August. All first-year programs include an overnight stay; transfer students will have both overnight and one-day programs available.
