What Do I Do After I Apply?
 
  • Complete the TAP ETA (Express TAP Application)
    • The TAP ETA will be mailed to you approximately 1-2 weeks after you complete the FAFSA
    • If Oswego State is not listed as the school you will be attending, you will need to change the Tap School Code to 0935 (Undergraduate) or 5420 (Graduate).
    • Submit the completed TAP ETA to NYSHESC in the envelope that will be provided.
  • Submit any documents the Financial Aid Office requests. To check missing documents online click here.
  • Review the Student Aid Report you receive. If changes are necessary, click here and select "Make Changes to a Completed FAFSA".
  • Complete the NYS Electronic TAP application. If you are a NYS resident complete this application. If you have not received an application or have misplaced it, you can receive a  duplicate.
  • Check the status of your TAP application 
  • Review your award letter. 
  • Review your bill when you receive it and respond to all requests from the Student Accounts Office.
  • Check the status of your application. Once you receive your SAR, you will be able to check the status of your application, receive messages from the Financial Aid  Office and review your awards on our MyOswego site. Just login and click on "Financial Aid"
  • Submit all requested information to the Financial Aid Office
    • You may receive a request for additional information such as you and your parents;' 2007 taxes.
    • You may be asked to complete additional forms. You can download forms, select the forms you need, complete them and submit them to the Financial Aid Office.
  • Review the Oswego State Award Letter when you receive it.
    • Carefully read all the information sent with your Oswego State Award Letter.
