Faculty concert: "Prelude, Cadence et Finale"
SUNY Oswego faculty saxophonist Trevor Jorgensen, trumpeter Terry Caviness and pianist Robert Auler explore such influential instrumental composers as Debussy, Desenclos, Fasch and Hummel. The performance culminates with the Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Trumpet by Jean Rivier. $8, including parking ($6 for seniors, staff and faculty; $5 for SUNY Oswego students) at tickets.oswego.edu or 315-312-2141. Concert: Ariel Quartet
Characterized by its youth, brilliant playing and soulful interpretations, the Ariel Quartet has earned a glowing international reputation. The program includes Beethoven's Quartet in F Major, Op. 18, No. 1; Britten's Quartet No. 2; and Schumann's Piano Quintet in E-flat Major, Op. 44.
