OSWEGO -- Two days of workshops for aerobics instructors will be held Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11 and 12, at Oswego State.
The workshops are cosponsored by Oswego State and the National Dance Exercise Instructors Training Association, a nonprofit fitness professional association whose workshops are nationally recognized.
The Aerobic Certification Workshop will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday in the Lee Hall dance studio at Oswego State. NDEITA's trainer will teach potential and current fitness instructors about basic academic and practical applications of teaching group exercise. No college, science or teaching background is required. The workshop will include a full-day review, written exam and two-year certificate and membership.
On Sunday, the "Mind-Body Connection Workshop" will begin at 8 a.m. It will make the connection between the physical body and the intellect. Participants will explore the various ways to incorporate the mind-body connection into group exercises and personal training sessions.
The "Move to the 32 Workshop" will begin at noon Sunday. It will help aerobics teachers coordinate their step and floor choreography and plan new choreography.
Registration costs vary. For details, call 1-800-AEROBIC (237-6242). Pre-registration is important because space is limited.
