OSWEGO STATE WRITING PROFESSOR
TO SPEAK AT FALL LECTURE SERIES
OSWEGO -- Oswego State writing arts Professor Leigh Wilson will speak at Oswego State's fall lecture series "Writing Women" at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in Room 232-233 of Hewitt Union.
Wilson will discuss portions of her new novel that is still untitled.
"The book features a young woman's strive for identity with an unusual turn of events," Wilson says.
People attending Wilson's talk may bring a lunch or order off the menu.
Wilson's new book should be out late next year. It will be her third. For her first book, "From the Bottom Up," she won the Flannery O'Connor Award for short fiction. Her second book, "Wind: Stories," was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
The "Writing Women" series is sponsored by the Women's Studies Program. The annual lecture series encourages faculty, students and staff to acknowledge the accomplishments of these women and to participate in discussions of their work.
