STUDENT ASSOCATION TO HOST LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
OSWEGO -- The SUNY Oswego Student Association will host a leadership conference for high school students in Oswego County on Saturday, March 9.
Thirty-five high school students from high schools in Pulaski, Hannibal, Oswego, Central Square, Phoenix and Sandy Creek have signed up, according to SA President Timothy Barnhart and John Turbeville, director of student affairs for SA.
High school students will meet SUNY Oswego student leaders and hear presentations from college staff during the program from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Hewitt Union. Assistant Dean of Students Robin McAleese, Professor Emeritus Jay Button, Academic Adviser Jean Conway and Health Promotions Coordinator Michael McNeil will speak.
Parents are invited to an awards session at 4 p.m., with dinner for students and parents to follow in a campus dining hall.
The all-day program will include breakfast and lunch covered by the college's Student Association and dinner for the students and their parents courtesy of the college's Auxiliary Services.
