SINGERS, ORCHESTRA TO PRESENT 'KIDS' STUFF'
OSWEGO -- The SUNY Oswego Chamber Singers and Chamber Orchestra will present a concert titled "Kids' Stuff" at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17, in the lower lobby of Tyler Hall's Waterman Theatre on campus.
The concert will include vocal and instrumental music geared toward children, organizers said. Included in the program will be Franz Joseph Haydn's "Toy Symphony"; choral settings of "Old MacDonald Had a Farm," "Christopher Robin Is Saying His Prayers" and "The Teddy Bear Picnic"; and the musical fable "The Wind in the Willows" by John Rutter.
"The Wind in the Willows" is based on the well-known book of the same name by Kenneth Grahame. Written for chorus, soloists and small orchestra, the musical version tells the adventures of the characters Badger, Rat and Mole trying to keep their friend Toad out of trouble.
The admission-free concert is expected to run about an hour. Persons with disabilities seeking accommodations to attend this event should contact the SUNY Oswego music department in advance at 312-2130.
