RICE CREEK ASSOCIATES CALLS
FOR SMALL GRANTS PROPOSALS
OSWEGO -- Rice Creek Associates invites proposals from scholars, scientists, educators and students for the 2001 Small Grants Program, which is intended to support and encourage research, education and public service projects at SUNY Oswego's Rice Creek Field Station, particularly in areas of biology and the natural sciences. Proposals are due by March 15.
Proposals oriented towards basic and applied research in field biology, the natural sciences, education or service projects will be considered. Studies utilizing the natural environment are especially sought. The work must be done at Rice Creek Field Station.
Rice Creek Field Station is a unit of SUNY Oswego dedicated to the support of academic instruction, research and public service, especially in the natural sciences and environmental education. The mission of Rice Creek Associates is to support the educational, research and service aims of Rice Creek Field Station.
Most awards will be between $500 and $1,000, and additional funds in support of living expenses for visiting scholars may be available at the discretion of the RCA board of directors. Grant funds may be used for stipends, travel, supplies, equipment, publication costs or secretarial support. RCA encourages applicants to seek matching funds.
Proposals should consist of a cover page, text and vitae of the principal investigators. The text should include background and need, objectives, method, schedule, personnel, significance, literature cited in proposal and detailed budget. Proposals may not exceed 15 double-spaced pages, excluding vitae.
An original and five copies of each proposal should be submitted by mail to: Rice Creek Associates, Small Grant Review, Rice Creek Field Station, SUNY Oswego, Oswego, NY 13126.
Awards will be announced on or about April 15.
