OSWEGO -- Sponsors spell success for the Oswego State Fall Classic in support of scholarships at SUNY Oswego. The 13th annual event will take place Sept. 12 and 13 on campus and in the community.
Providing leadership in supporting the fund-raising effort are four Presidential Sponsors: Constellation Energy Group, GE Power Systems, New York State Laborers' Employers Cooperation and Education Trust Fund and Sithe.
"Their support, along with that of all our loyal sponsors, will help provide the funding that brings the best and brightest students to Oswego," said Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley.
Since 1996, proceeds of the Fall Classic have been dedicated to the Presidential Scholars Program, which has resulted in more student applications and more highly qualified applicants.
The Sithe Luncheon on Sept. 12 will kick off two days of Fall Classic events. Friday recreational activities will offer opportunities for networking in a relaxed atmosphere at the fishing expedition on Lake Ontario and a golf tournament at Oswego Country Club and Fall Classic finale gathering.
The Fall Classic has generated a grand total in gross sponsorship gifts of $2.35 million since 1990 through the support of sponsors, who choose from eight levels of support. Presidential Sponsors give at the highest level.
