OSWEGO -- Rice Creek Associates of Oswego State's Rice Creek Field Station has announced two opportunities for nature photography buffs and beginners to sharpen their focus this fall: a workshop Sept. 16 and a contest through October.
Professor Joe LeFevre will conduct a Nature Photography Workshop at the Rice Creek Field Station from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 16.
LeFevre has been photographing the American wilderness for over 20 years. His travels have taken him across the United States in search of outstanding natural landscapes. His award-winning photographs have appeared in galleries in New York and Virginia and several local publications. LeFevre has taught landscape photography workshops at Sterling Nature Center and Rice Creek Field Station at Oswego State, where he is a professor of chemistry.

Workshop participants and other amateur or professional photographers will have an opportunity to employ their creative talents in the "Rice Creek in Autumn" photo contest that will run through the end of October.
The contest will encourage photographers to explore and capture on film the natural wonders of the Rice Creek Field Station during fall when changing colors and bird migration combine to make Rice Creek a fascinating area for naturalists. A juried exhibit will be held at Oswego State and For more information on how to enter the "Rice Creek in Autumn" photo contest, call the Rice Creek Field Station at 342-0961.
