OSWEGO -- Another SUNY Oswego alumnus will get
national television exposure when "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" airs
April 20 on Bravo. Mark Finegan, a 1989 graduate of Oswego, is
scheduled to star as the week's "straight guy" and fashion dunce who
receives a makeover from the show's resident team of gay stylists.
Oswego alumnus Rob Cesternino won fame on the CBS
reality hit "Survivor" last year.
Finegan reports that he teaches physical education
at Pelham Memorial High School, where he also coaches track, girls'
volleyball and men's basketball. He is married, with a 2-year-old son.
"The girls on my volleyball team and my wife
submitted me for the show," he says. "Unfortunately or fortunately, the
producers felt I was perfect."
The episode was filmed in late January. "It was a
great experience," he says. "The Fab 5 and everyone else connected with
the show were a pleasure to work with. They did a beautiful job on our
house and my new wardrobe."
Lisa M. Schnorr, a 1987 graduate who knew Finegan at
Oswego, says he was an education major who was "very involved with
theatre," adding, "It should be a very entertaining episode."
