Re:      Academic Calendar, Spring Semester 2007

I want to confirm that we have no plans to change the academic calendar for Spring Semester 2007. I am sure you appreciate that there is no easy way to add days to the calendar for the classes we have missed because of the weather.

Since we will continue to use the approved academic calendar, I ask you to plan appropriately with your students for satisfactory completion of your courses. You may want to consider revising your syllabus or developing some alternative, asynchronous assignments for your students.  Please remember, whatever you decide to do, that students have their own busy schedules; thus, many could have difficulty if you try to arrange another meeting time for the whole class.  I encourage you to be as flexible as possible in devising solutions.
