Oswego State EAP Committee Minutes - 9-29-05

Committee members present: Donna Besaw, Bob Casper, Mary Dorsey, Brenda Seymour, Joanne Sivers, Coordinator Carol Carter & Regional Representative Joan Mayes

Minutes of prior meeting:  9-01-05

Treasurer’s report:  Margaret is away at CSEA conference.

Coordinator’s report:  Jody had 2 contacts in Sept.  Carol attended New Coordinators Institute last week and, after sharing stories with coordinators from other agencies, she feels that we have a “great committee!”

Old business:  during today’s meeting we assembled folders for the Benefits Fair.

Fall programming - Brenda will introduce presenters for the Cancer Series.  MaryD will introduce Jody for Parenting Teens on 10/19.  We need someone for 11/16.

Where is “The Joy of Stress” tape?  Library may order taped or CDs for our Film Festival on 11/30.  Joan suggested that we could write a grant for movies/DVDs.

Flyers – Fall schedule, Denim Day, Cancer Series, Benefits Fair

Grants approved for pens, bags, magnets.  (On 10/5/05 we got verbal approval for a table cover, but it won’t be here in time for the Benefits Fair.)

Benefit Fair 10-11-05 - Need volunteers to help with arrangements and to work the fair.  Margaret will get candy for the EAP table.

Childcare Leadership Conference - dinner 10-19-05 – Carol and Brenda will attend.

“America on the Move”  - We decided not to participate.

Winter BreakOut – offer smoking cessation, Life of Cancer, gardening?, EAP for Supervisors, relaxation, yoga, health & wellness theme

Spring programming - “Getting Your Life in Order” – ID theft, finances, living wills, parenting, cancer, health & wellness, gardening

New business:  More planning after the Benefits Fair
