Oswego State EAP Committee Minutes – 7-13-06

Minutes of prior meeting:  5-18-06

Treasurer’s report:  Ending balance: $808.33.  T-Ball expenses included $348. for tee

shirts plus between $300. and $400. for new T-Ball equipment.  Income from T-Ball

participation was $364.

Coordinator’s report:  One call was received in June which was Jody’s month.  No contacts

yet for July. 

Old business:

·          Grants – The last of the grants have been submitted and the total for the 2006-

06 fund year requested and granted was $3,777.82.  Kudos to Brenda for all of her grant writing!

·          Spring programming 

o         LAF – The LAF program is struggling to get off the ground with few participants at present.  The summer walking program has not started as of yet.  Ideas were shared to beef up the LAF program, and LAF has been scheduled to happen on every other Thursday in the fall beginning 9/14/06.  Subsequent dates are: 9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9, and 11/30.  Ideas are welcomed to promote this program.  An email list will be developed to spread the word to potential participants.

o         6/8 – Gardening – around 50 people participated in the ever-popular gardening program this summer.

o         June – T-Ball – Great success!  Mary brought pictures to share.

·          Fall programming

o         Four “lunch and learns” with the Attorney General’s office including Internet Safety on 9/19, Power of Attorney information on 10/3, a session on Living Wills in November (date TBD), and Protecting our Seniors from scams on 12/5.

o         Flower Arranging 11/16 – Flowers by Mr. John – Thanksgiving Centerpiece. cost $5.? Supplemented by EAP? – 20 people limit.

o         Film Fest – once per month.  Movies on Wednesdays, 9/13, 10/11, 11/8.  On Thursday, 12/7 will be the final movie for the year and we will assemble candy grams at that time.

o         Dec. – Letters from Santa

New Business:  Mary has submitted a memo to request an EAP budget of $1,000.

Next meeting:  2pm on the third Thursday = August 17^th.  Location to be determined.
