Minutes for November 13, 2006

Coordinators: Carol Carter & Jody Fiorini

Minutes of prior meeting:  10-23-06

Treasurer’s report:  Balance: $708.33.  No change.

Coordinator’s report:  Some people with housing issues. 

Carol was also contacted by another coordinator regarding defensive driving.

CSEA L/M Education Committee will offer defensive driving 1/16 & 1/17/07.

Old business:

  • By – laws were approved with 7 voting members.

·         We also may lose Jody as a coordinator due to lack of training time.  Mary will send flyers out to conduct a search for a new coordinator.

Programming:

o        Thanksgiving Flower Arranging 11/16 – 22 people are signed up – will probably have 2 sessions to accommodate Operations employees (11:30 & 12:30).  Brenda will try & get soup cups donated from local Chinese restaurant.

o        Attorney General, 11/21/06 & 12/5/06.  Will focus on living wills & senior fraud.

Spring Programming

o        Scrapbooking with Purdy’s, Dancing with Tana Olin, Cooking with Mike Cali from the Foundry, knitting with the Knitting Center downtown.  Brenda will give us dates once everything is set.  She will check with Shelly VanSlyke and Brian Wallace about Healthy You and check with Joanne on spring films.

New Business: 

·         Chair/Committee Training in Syracuse 2/5/07.  Shelly St. John will attend, and possibly Karen Sawyer.  Any interested committee members should sign up.

·         We will preview “Enjoy the Ride” over Winter break, dates TBA.   Also may offer programs during Winter BreakOut.

·         To add people to the listserv, it was suggested to add this information to the bottom of our flyers to get your email address added.

Next meeting:  12:00 pm on December 7th for CandyGrams and “Joy of Stress” in 212 Hewitt Union.
