Minutes for October 23, 2006

Committee members: Donna Besaw, Bob Casper, Mary Dorsey, Jamie Enwright, Margaret Gover, Carrie Izzo, Betsy Oberst, Vicki Parsnow, Judi Phillips, Karen Sawyer, Brenda Seymour, JoAnne Sivers, Shelly St John, Eric Tsai, Shelly VanSlyke, Brian Wallace

Coordinators:  Carol Carter & Jody Fiorini  (Bolded members were present.)

Minutes of prior meeting:  Were emailed to Committee, no corrections.

Treasurer’s report:  $708.33 – no expenditures or income

Coordinator’s report:  none

Old business:

  • Shelly VanSlyke is creating a list serve for EAP using the sign-in sheets from events and will add to it with addresses from employee lists.
  • Fall programming – Flyer has gone out.  Yoga is this Thursday, 10/26, at Cooper Fitness Center.  Movie 11/8.  Flyer for the 11/16 Thanksgiving craft event will go out soon as well as both the Santa Letters and Candy-Gram flyers. 
  • Candy Grams have a deadline of 12/5  will be stuffed on 12/7 after the EAP film and will be delivered 12/11 & 12/12. 
  • Vicki Parsnow and Shelly St. John will assist with Santa letter responsibilities.  11/17 will be the deadline for Santa letter requests.
  • The fate of the EAP budget is still unknown and will be proposed again.  Discussion about how to cover training for Coordinators.
  • By-laws need revision - Brenda and Shelly St. John agreed to review the by-laws with Mary and offer comments.  Revisions will be emailed to Committee.

New business:

  • Films by Steve Gilliland - “Enjoy the Ride” have been purchased by the Human Resources Dept. and it was proposed and agreed that EAP would fund half of the cost for the films.
  • Brenda will check with Bill Bosch about Winter  BreakOut programming.
  • Spring Programming ideas include:  Scrapbooking, knitting, dancing, cooking (both 30-minute meals and freezing leftovers), 2 films – possibly Gilliland films, and Healthy You.
  • Fall, ’07 programming – Memory Improvement, Energy Star (Sept.?), and a Health Fair.
