Memo from the Provost
Scholarly and Creative Activity Grants, 10-17-05

I am pleased to announce several improvements in the grant programs formerly called Faculty Enhancement Grants.  In the past, grants for scholarly/creative work and course development were combined.  Beginning this year we will advertise two programs: 1) Scholarly and Creative Grants; and 2) Course Innovation Grants.  These new names will help us avoid the confusion that sometimes happened when both were called "Faculty Enhancement Grants."

In addition, both the Scholarly and Creative Activities Committee (SCAC) and the Committee on Learning and Teaching (COLT) have updated and refined their calls for proposals.  We have added an additional funding cycle for Scholarly and Creative Grants and have moved Course Innovation Grants to summer stipends.  And, additional funding has been made available for both programs.

For current guidelines and deadlines for the Scholarly and Creative Grants please visit the Provost's website:

http://www.Oswego.edu/administration/provost/faculty_grants.html.

Guidelines for the Course Innovation Grants will be posted in the next month at the same site.  I encourage you to apply.

In addition to these opportunities, our student SCAC awards and student-faculty collaboration grants remain in place as usual. See the website for current information on these and other opportunities.  Please contact Michael Ameigh, Assistant Provost, if you require additional information.

Thank you.
