Letter to the President of April 10, 2006 Vision 2020: report to the President from the Library Visioning Committee Examples of ideas for future consideration
Thanks to the hundreds of students, faculty and staff who responded to the Library Visioning Committee online questionnaire (you can view results of the questionnaire by clicking on the images below). From these responses the committee has now developed a vision statement and is requesting additional feedback.
Results of the Library Visioning Committee's faculty student surveys and focus groups conducted in the Fall semester
The Library Visioning Committee has completed surveying students and faculty through an online questionnaire and in a series of focus groups led by committee members. This process was instituted to acquire input from across the institution as the university seeks ideas for preparing Penfield Library to meet the needs of the college community into the 21st century. The President has charged this committee with developing recommendations for the future of Penfield Library. Specifically, this charge requests the committee:
- Study current thinking and planning for forward-looking libraries, including how they should function on and across campus, on line, and in collaboration with other institutions;
- Promote a campus dialogue on the future of the library at SUNY Oswego related to the services and spaces needed for the 21st century learner;
- Recommend to the President a vision for our library's future that will support the mission and goals of the institution.
