Subject:   Faculty International Travel Grant Proposals

Date:       February 22, 2008

The Office of International Education and Programs is pleased to announce the Faculty International Travel Grants competition for 2008. These grants are intended to support full-time faculty who wish to travel outside the United States to present papers at conferences, or to do research, and to support the creation of new courses that will include study abroad opportunities for Oswego students, and to bring inernational themes further into the curriculum.

There will be two rounds of applications: The first will be for travel during the spring semester and summer session; the second will be for travel during the fall semester. All interested faculty should complete an application form which can be downloaded from our Web site (http://www.Oswego.edu/intled) in the 'Information for Faculty' section.  Submit five (5) copies to my attention to the Office of International Education and Programs by March 31 for the spring round and by Friday of the first full week of classes in the fall semester for the second round.

A committee composed of individuals serving on the International Education Advisory Council will review and revise on the process for application, selection, and awards, and make recommendations to the Director of International Education and Programs. Owing to limited funds, priority will be given to those faculty who have not received an OIEP travel grant in past competitions. Recipients will be notified within three weeks of the deadline. Upon completion of the travel, grantees must submit a brief written report of their activities. Future consideration for a travel grant will depend upon this report being submitted by the third week after the completion of the project.
