Committee on Intellectual Integrity
Minutes of November 3, 2010

Present: Bozak, Folino, Garii, Hughes, Nichols

* We are still up in the air re: the certificate. Hemphill is out of town for a few weeks and we'll try to nail this down when he returns.

* Winter Breakout. Bozak will contact John Kane to get us on to the Winter Breakout schedule.

We need a provocative title to get folks to choose to attend.  "Should more instances of academic misconduct be reported?" or "Academic misconduct should NOT be reported" Any other ideas for a provocative title?

We want to focus on (1) current violations report; (2) reasons for reporting/not reporting; (3) process

Another possible title/topic: "Should students define what cheating is? (and the penalties for cheating)"

Faculty need to be clear about just what it is they want - what is a student's work? The individual's or the group's (if group work), for example.

Respectfully submitted,

-David Bozak
