Welcome to all new and continuing members of our faculty and professional staff.

I hope that this Faculty and Professional Staff Handbook will serve as a source of important information about SUNY Oswego and State University policies. Further, I hope it will make your job somewhat easier whenever you need guidance in matters related to day-to-day operations or have questions about your employment rights and responsibilities.

As you know, policies, procedures, and regulations are necessary in any academic community that seeks to function harmoniously and constructively.  However, our work, the essence of what we do as members of the faculty and professional staff, cannot be summarized in any handbook.  Oswego is a vibrant place, and I invite you to participate fully in the life of this institution. The material in this handbook will help familiarize you with the broad range of traditions, opportunities and challenges Oswego offers.
