Laker Turf Stadium kick-off ceremony
Prior to the men's soccer game, SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley will officially open the facility together with Vice President for Student Affairs Jerald Woolfolk, Director of Athletics Sue Viscomi and esteemed alumnus and member of the 1966 SUNYAC men's soccer championship squad Dan Scaia, a 1968 Oswego graduate. The first 200 students in attendance will receive a free "Laker Turf Stadium Kickoff" T-shirt and a free soft pretzel. Free. 312-3056.

Concert: Bach cello suites by Matt Haimovitz
Renowned Israeli-born soloist Matt Haimovitz performs all six Bach cello suites, while visiting four Central New York locations. (The “moveable feast” begins with a Tuesday live-at-noon broadcast from the studios of WCNY FM (91.3), followed by a 3 p.m. appearance at the River’s End Bookstore. The musical tour resumes at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Tyler Gallery in Penfield Library.) There are many opportunities for recognition of excellence in teaching, service, scholarship, creative activity, and librarianship at SUNY Oswego. Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate peers for the following awards. Nominations should be proposed well in advance of deadlines in order to allow nominees ample time to prepare support folios. Please check the Faculty Awards Master List to determine whether someone you may be planning to nominate has already received that particular award.

Nominations are invited for the President's Award for Scholarly and Creative Activity (eligible: full-time faculty on tenure track with a minimum of seven years of service to the University) and the Provost's Award for Scholarly and Creative Activity (eligible: full-time faculty on tenure track with two to seven years of completed service to the University). Please read guidelines carefully to assure that all required materials and documentation are submitted for review on time.

Each year the State University of New York recognizes outstanding scholarship and creative activity, faculty service, teaching, librarianship, and distinguished service and research through the conferral of Chancellor's awards for excellence and the appointment of faculty to distinguished professorships.
SUNY Oswego is authorized to submit up to four nominations for the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching and one nomination each for the Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Librarianship, Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities, and Excellence in Faculty Service.* In addition, one nomination each is authorized for the Distinguished Teaching Professorship and the Distinguished Service Professorship. The latter constitute elevations in rank from Full Professor to Distinguished Professor.
The nominator is responsible for submitting all credentials and supporting materials to the Provost's Office, 702 Culkin Hall, by Friday, December 12, 2014. See Tips for Effective Chancellor Award and Distinguished Rank Applications.
* Not listed here are the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service, Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Classified Service, and Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence. These award nominations and reviews are administered through the Office of Student Affairs, 711 Culkin Hall.
