Announcements: Susan
reminded the Council that the campus is a member of the Higher Education
Recruitment Consortium (HERC) for Upstate New York. All positions available at member campuses
across the region are posted to the HERC website:

Deans will begin drafting priorities for faculty and staff
searches for the coming academic year. A
discussion of priorities will get underway later this summer.
Proposed Institute: Provost’s Council discussed a proposal for
the creation of a new institute that would be named the SUNY Oswego Institute
for Global Engagement. The entity would
be a coordinating body for international activities on campus. It would also seek to raise external funds
from grants and other sources to cover its expenses. The Council made many
suggestions and asked that the proposal be revised.
Online report: Susan indicated that the Online Report worked
better than ever this year but faculty sometimes put information in the wrong
categories. We will survey School of Business faculty about their use of
Digital Measures. However, there seem to be similar problems of input. At this time it is unlikely we will move all
faculty to Digital Measures due to cost.
Annual Reports: We discussed how many wonderful things are
happening that are hard to report in the current format for collecting
information. We will discuss changes for next year.
Discretionary Salary Increase (DSI): The Council discussed
procedures for DSI in early fall semester.
Timetable information has been distributed to departments for their
action.
