Project Goals for 2007-2008:
The Council discussed a list of potential annual goals to be discussed and reviewed at the AAC meeting on September 5th. A final list of goals will link directly to priorities set in the sesquicentennial plan.
Academic Affairs Mission Statement:
The Council discussed a list of options suggested at the AAC retreat for an Academic Affairs mission statement and its contribution to the sesquicentennial plan. A draft document capturing ideas stemming from this discussion will be reviewed by AAC on September 5th.
Announcements:
- On September 12th the Council will have a discussion with Cathy Santos, Associate Provost for Multicultural Opportunities and Programs, regarding plans to move forward in support of campus-wide diversity activities and objectives. A discussion will follow with references to Diversifying The Faculty: A Guidebook For Search Committees by Caroline Sotello Viernes Turner, and Making a Real Difference with Diversity by Alma R. Clayton-Pedersen, et. al.
-Volunteers are being solicited for ‘Kids Wellness Day Field Trip’ at Breitbeck Park, Oswego, on September 21st. Many helpers are needed to make this event a success. All students, faculty and staff are urged to take advantage of this community service opportunity.
