Provost's Council
Minutes for October 3, 2007

Susan Coultrap-McQuin (presiding), Michael Ameigh (recording). Yvonne Petrella, Rhonda Mandel, Mary Beth Bell, David King, Linda Rae Markert, Cathy Santos, Rameen Mohammadi.

On-line Faculty Report:
The Council discussed some issues raised in Faculty Assembly regarding the online faculty activity reporting system.  The discussion centered on whether the current system is meeting the needs of departments and deans for purposes of compiling annual reports and making personnel decisions.  A subcommittee chaired by Rameen Mohammadi will be created to investigate alternatives to the current system.

Program Fact Sheets:
The Council reviewed handouts containing fact sheets describing various academic programs.  Rameen suggested that having such information for each academic program in a similar one-page format would be an effective way to distribute information to prospective students without overwhelming them.  Such web-friendly materials would also generate consistency across the Division in the way program information is displayed.
