Online Activity Reporting:
The Council continued its discussion of the online faculty activity reporting process for promotion and DSI.  A committee is being organized to look into possible alternatives to the current system.  The committee will include broad representation from appropriate Faculty Assembly committees, Institutional Research and Campus Technology Services.

Civic Engagement:
Thad Mantaro, coordinator of the Civic Engagement Coalition, presented an overview of activities the Coalition has underway and planned.  He indicated that a newsletter is being developed along with a website, and that a number of campus organizations are participating in civic engagement activities.

Emergency Management Plan:
A progress report on emergency management was distributed for review prior to a visit to the Council by University Police Chief Cindy Adam on October 18th.  Chief Adam will discuss procedures for dealing with potential emergency situations.
