DSI- The Provost met with Personnel Policies Council to discuss and clarify the calendar for discretionary salary increases (DSI) this year. There will be an initial meeting to discuss criteria in May. The final meeting will be no later than October 10th.
Annual Reports- Electronic and hard copies of annual reports from deans and directors must arrive in the Provost’s Office on or before June 1st.
College Hour Program-Author and journalist Ruth Gruber, LLD (Hon.) will speak during the College Hour today in the Hewitt Union Ballroom.
Succession Planning:
The Council reviewed data reflecting current demographic trends among faculty and staff on campus. As is the case across SUNY, the average age of Oswego faculty and staff has been rising annually for some years. This trend is apparent in all units of Academic Affairs. Because retirements by full-time faculty and adjuncts need to be factored into planning for searches, all faculty and staff who may be planning to do so are requested to announce their intentions well in advance in order to assure orderly succession by qualified faculty and staff.
Current Search Update:
The Council discussed the progress of current searches. A number of offers have been made pending acceptance by candidates while others that have not been successful are expected to resume in the fall semester.
