The Associate Provost for Multicultural Opportunities and Programs serves as a proactive resource to the campus in efforts to respond to increasing multicultural diversity; is an advocate to help ensure the success of students, faculty, and staff of color; and recommends policies and procedures appropriate to ensure diversity and equity and a positive campus climate for all. The Associate Provost partners with campus offices and departments on initiatives related to recruitment and retention of students, staff, and faculty of color; serves as a resource to all members of campus on relevant issues; and connects with external groups, such as members of our community, our alumni, and potential funding agencies.
The Associate Provost serves as the Provost’s liaison and works with a cross-campus advisory board and other committees as appropriate and provides regular reports on our progress in creating an inclusive campus environment. She is Chair of the Personal Safety Task Force and also a member of the Provost’s Council.
