Re:          Adjunct Base and Extra Service Funding

I am pleased to announce that beginning with Fall semester 2006 the starting compensation for adjuncts will be $834 per credit or $2,502 for a 3-credit course.  All new and returning adjuncts who are below $2,502 will be compensated at the new level.  Adjuncts who are already beyond this level of compensation because of salary increases over time will receive only the negotiated increases already in progress.  Stipends in place for other work will be continued at current levels.

Extra service teaching by our faculty members will also be compensated at $834 per credit or $2,502 per 3-credit course.

Please submit paperwork and related documentation on your adjunct and extra service hires by July 31 for the Fall semester.  Any forms previously submitted that would be affected by this change will be revised by Human Resources to show the new amount.  Forms received after July 31 may result in late payments to the employees.  Thank you.
