Announcement from the Provost: November 11, 2012

I am pleased to announce the inauguration of the Provost Faculty Research Fellowship Program to promote and foster the research endeavors and grant activity of SUNY Oswego faculty.

Beginning Fall 2013, four fellowships will be awarded to proven scholars or highly qualified rising junior scholars with promising research agendas and those who have potential to increase funds from extramural agencies.

I invite active tenure track or faculty on continuing appointment to apply for fellowships.  Eligibility requirements, nomination and selection criteria, conditions of awards, and application deadlines can be found here.

For each fellow, the program will be an important professional development opportunity.  Fellows who participate in the program will help define the importance of quality scholarships on the campus, and will acquire or refine skills in proposal writing, written presentation of research, and grant management.

I express my appreciation to the Scholarly and Creative Activities Committee for advancing like proposals that served as the foundation for this exciting new initiative.

Lorrie Clemo

Provost
