Emergency Blue Light Phones
Blue light boxes are located at:
- Parking Lot 1 (Lakefront Lot North of Lanigan)
- Seneca Hall Foot Bridge
- Parking Lot 11 (Western Res. Halls, North Lot)
- Parking Lot 7 (Romney Lot)
Use the boxes to report a crime in progress or any life threatening emergency.
Each box contains a device to directly alert the University Police Department.
To activate the box, pull the handle on the right side of the box, an alarm will immediately be sent to the University Police. Inside the box is a pushbutton. Pressing the button will send another alarm to the University Police.
If possible, wait for the patrol units to arrive.
NOTE - Do not tamper with the box unless there is a crime in progress or a life threatening emergency. Pulling the Blue Light box handle is considered reporting an emergency to a law enforcement agency. For this reason, any other activation of the alarm is considered a violation of Falsely Reporting an Incident pursuant to Section 240.50 of the New York State Penal Law.
