Student Teacher Parking Information
for Oswego State University
Spring 2008

Below please find parking information as it pertains to parking during your semester as a student teacher at Oswego State.

If you have questions, issues or individual problems in regards to parking call the Parking Office at 312-3227. The Parking Office hours are from 7:30a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, you may also email us at parking-list@ls.oswego.edu.

You may call University Police at 312-5555 to report an emergency or to address any public safety issue 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Parking on OSU grounds for Student Teachers is arranged as follows between the Education Department and University Police.

Commuting Student Teachers are the only group of full time registered students that the Parking Office has exempted from paying the full time rate for parking due to the limited number of times per semester that you will be required to come to main campus during this semester as a student teacher. This is provided as a courtesy to our student teachers.

If you are a Resident student you must purchase a Resident permit at the Full Time fee.

However, in light of the fact that student teachers have not paid the requisite parking fee that is mandatory for all other students who wish to park a vehicle in SUNY Oswego parking lots, it is expected that all student teachers will park in the shuttle bus lot 5, behind Laker Hall on the dates that you come to campus for mandatory meetings and presentations. The dates for your meetings have been provided to the University Police Parking Division and Officers will ticket those vehicles not in compliance with this directive.

It will be necessary for you to obtain a temporary permit on the dates that you are coming to campus for these meetings at the cost of $1.00 per day from the Parking Office.

You will be required to park in the shuttle bus lot #5 and to take the shuttle bus over to your meeting location.

You may not park on main campus on the dates of your group meeting as to do so would unfairly displace the School of Education faculty and staff as well as your fellow students that have paid the parking permit and registration fee.

If you are taking classes at OSU in addition to your Student Teaching obligations you will need to register your vehicle and pay the part-time student rate for parking. If you need to come to campus on additional days (for instance to study at the library etc.) you will need to obtain a temporary parking permit for Commuter parking lots for $1.00 from the Parking Office. You may purchase these dollar permits as often as you like during your tenure as a student teacher.
